I am a senior in high school and I want to be an investment banker. I plan on majoring in finance. I have researched how to be an investment banker but i would like to hear from people who are investment bankers or in that field. I would like to know the path they are taking. I’m wondering if I should go straight to grad school or graduate work in a firm then get my MBA? Questions like that I have. Thanks in advance for your help

Hi there … Assuming one gets the same yield (pre-tax) from money market mutual funds & on-line savings accounts, is there any advantage of one over the other? For example, is the tax treatment of earnings different? Apart from feedback, if u can refer me to any article/publication, that would be gr8 too. Thanks, in advance, for your help!

I know people who don’t work and only invest in the stock market. They make more than enough to pay their bills and stash a good amount away? How do you do that? How much do you need? How do people make money in the stock market in good and bad market (bull and bear)? I know stocks are cheap right now, but once stocks reach their highs again, how do people make money? While I was happy to get a 25 cent dividend, I then noticed that the NAV of my mutual fund went down by 25 cents. So, in the end, are dividends useless to the investor? Please tell me what the story with this is. Thanks in advance.

diversified. I understand that index funds that follow the S&P are mainly large cap companies. Should I have a separate fund for Large, medium, and small caps? Or maybe just one that follows the S&P. Or maybe one that follows the entire market (wilshire 5000)? There are so many options . Please help. Thanks in advance.

I really screwed up and have over ,000 in investment losses this year! Our gross income from salaries for this year will only be around ,000.

In addition, I lost 00 in my Roth IRA. I just read that I can only deduct ,000 in investment losses. Does that include IRAs PLUS regular investment activities?

Also, will any interest I accrue via CDs or dividends from stocks or mutual funds essentially be tax-free now since I have such a large investment loss? Or is that a different category?

Please help, I really screwed up this year and am hoping somebody has some suggestions to make this better. Thanks in advance!
