Should I invest in Mutual funds or Stocks in a Roth IRA ?

I am contributing to 401k and maxing it out as part of my employer’s retirement plan. The money in the 401k is getting invested in Mutual funds. I also plan to open a Roth IRA and would like to put 00 (max amount). I have 30 more years to retire. At this point, is it advisable for me to invest the amount in the Roth IRA in mutual funds or in stocks ?

Should I sell my mutual fund to help start my Roth IRA?

I want to open a Roth IRA. I have a mutual fund with T. Rowe Price, PRWCX, and I was thinking about rolling that money to the new Roth IRA. If I wanted to move that money to the Roth IRA, it would require me to sell the mutual fund shares I own. Would it be worth it to sell the mutual funds or should I just try and max out the Roth IRA with my paycheck money?

How do I buy a no load mutual fund for my Roth IRA?

How do I buy a no load mutual fund for my Roth IRA?

It seems like any of the financial companies that you go to are hawking there products and not giving a straight answer on buying a non load mutual fund.

Also-how can I find out what types of returns a particular no load fund is providing?

Thanks.

Help determining the right mutual funds and risk for my situation?

I am planning to begin investing in mutual funds. Most likely I will open a Roth IRA and invest to the max annually. Then just invest in funds themselves. I’m 42 years old and am generally conservative. I can handle some market fluctuation but I do not want to lose my savings being too aggressive. I’ve chosen to start with the Roth for retirment but with the flexibility to take out money invested in an emergency. What tools do you suggest to narrow down the options?

Can you answer a couple questions about S&P 500 Index Funds?

Hey guys i heard the s and p 500 index fund is a low risk, low fee investment. How much could i expect to make in interest annually? 10%? Higher? Lower? And how and where do i buy them? And how much do they cost? One chunck of money or monthly deposits into it? Both? Any help on this subject of index funds would be awesome. Lookning for a long term investment, is this the one or mutual funds better? Or Roth ira?

What is the best way to handle large investment losses on my taxes?

I really screwed up and have over ,000 in investment losses this year! Our gross income from salaries for this year will only be around ,000.

In addition, I lost 00 in my Roth IRA. I just read that I can only deduct ,000 in investment losses. Does that include IRAs PLUS regular investment activities?

Also, will any interest I accrue via CDs or dividends from stocks or mutual funds essentially be tax-free now since I have such a large investment loss? Or is that a different category?

Please help, I really screwed up this year and am hoping somebody has some suggestions to make this better. Thanks in advance!
