When will I get taxed on my money market IRA?

I just opened a money market IRA. I rolled about ,500 from my 401K into my new IRA. Since that money was pre-taxed, and any money that I put in from now on will be post tax..when will my ,500 be taxed? And will I have to pay that out of pocket, or will it come out of the money I put in my IRA?

Is investing in mutual funds and stocks the same thing?

People have told me due to my high level of risk that I should invest most of my money in stocks. I know my bank offers mutual funds and IRA’s but I am not sure if they offer stocks. If I have no stock investing experience then should I hire a broker to do it for me or should I just stick with aggressive mutual funds? Are stocks and mutual funds the same thing? What is an example of a stock?

Can you make money investing in mutual funds?

I have money in a 529 plan and an IRA. I understand those and their tax implications. I don’t understand how you make money from investing in mutual funds just normally and the tax implications. If a mutual fund sells something… then you have to pay taxes on it? I am not quite sure how that process works. I know Vanguard has funds, but I’m not sure how investing in them without the tax benefits from the IRA and such can help me. Thank you.

Dividends in a mutual funds/ETF are distribute to the shareholders or back to the funds?

Dividends in a mutual funds/ETF are distribute to the shareholders or back to the funds?

Do we get to invest the dividends or the dividends are automatically reinvested in to the funds, hence you own more shares of the funds? Lastly, I was told I should invest tax inefficient funds into my IRA rather than tax efficient funds. Can someone give me some comparisons?

How do I get started investing in stock index funds without paying those high initial investment minimums?

Fidelity’s minimum for an IRA is 00. I’d like to invest in three index funds. I have 00 to invest. Can I invest 2500 in the first fund, then withdraw 1500 leaving 1000 in, invest 2500 in the second, then withdraw 1500, so this leaves me with 2500 in hand to invest in the third. Then even everything out so I have equal amounts in each. Please help I’d like to get started soon but can this work. Thanks in advance for your answers
