Does the yield on a money market fund account for the fund expenses?
In other words, when I compare the interest rate on my high yield savings account to the yield on a money market, should I first subtract the money market’s expense ratio from its yield?

What are peoples opinion on etfs vs mutual funds?
I saw suzy orman the other day and she says that ETFs are much better than mutual funds. But i called vanguard up and asked them their opinion, and they said that mutual funds are better in the long run because there is no fees to buy more shares, even duo the expense ratio is more that for ETF (a diff of .07 to .25). and with ETFs every time you buy there is a price per share.

When buying mutual funds, what are the most important aspects to look at?
Okay, I’m new to investing in funds.
I know a bit here or there, but I’m still learning. I don’t know enough to trust myself jumping into anything yet.
What I’m looking for is long-term stuff, like something for retirement. I’m 22 now so I guess it’s a great time to start.
What is the top parameters I should look for when browsing mutual funds? Like when browsing MorningStar I see NAV and Expense Ratios (I know what they are) but how do I know what is more important? Also, once I know what is important, how do I know if it’s good. I figured you probably want a low expense ratio, but what would you consider "low"?
I guess I just wanna know what to look for in numbers.

How do you select the right mutual fund?
ING offers a mutual fund with only a 00 minimum. I know it has a high expense ratio, but I am 20 yrs old and can not afford the ,000 minimum at fidelity and all the other investing companies. I want to put a foot in investing, should I just wait to raise ,000 or try ING’s investing?

Should I buy index funds or the comparable ETF?
Right now I own index funds through vanguard. Most of their index funds have ETF equivalents whose price changes are basically the same.
The midcap index funds expense ratio is .21% and the etf is .13% but i have a 5 dollar comission everytime i buy. If I plan on keeping these for over 20 years and I buy in 500 dollar increments which strategy is better?
